About Hidden Gyms
Hidden Gyms provides fitness and yoga rooms directly at the workplace, without any membership. They offer flexible pricing, 100% privacy, high hygiene standards and unique facilities that create real feel-good spaces. The aim of Hidden Gyms is to promote health and relaxation directly at the workplace.
Starting situation
ACID21 developed a booking platform including an iOS and Android app for the micro-locations for fitness and yoga. After a failed implementation attempt by another agency, ACID21 developed a market-ready application on time and on budget within three months. We optimised the UI design provided by the client in terms of UX and developed it as a hybrid app based on React Native. The backend is connected to the app headless via API on the basis of Shopware 6. The entire business logic of registration, booking process and payment is based on Shopware 6. By using proven standard software, it was not only possible to realise a short time-to-value, but also a stable and scalable product in a budget-efficient manner from the outset. The realisation of access control to the hidden locations via app should also be emphasised: after online booking and payment, users are granted access via Bluetooth-based app for the duration of the booking.

Open the door with the app
The Hidden Gyms app revolutionises your access to the gym. Instead of a traditional key or membership card, you can now simply use your app to open the gym doors. By integrating Bluetooth and NFC technology, the app enables secure and convenient access. Simply hold the app up to the corresponding reader when you enter the gym and you're in. Getting to the gym has never been easier.

Pay directly in the app
The Hidden Gyms app also offers an integrated payment function. This means that you can pay for your membership subscription directly via the app. The app supports PayPal, giving you a secure and convenient way to make your payments. With just a few clicks, you can pay your monthly fee and focus on what really matters - your training.
