About evi.plus
evi.plus is a comprehensive healthcare platform with an integrated electronic patient record that supports patients and healthcare professionals in securely managing and analyzing health data. It serves as a central location for all health information. Doctors and therapists can receive test results directly from the laboratory via the platform, evaluate them and share them with their patients via evi.plus. The graphical display of laboratory values also provides a quick and easy overview of the patient's history of certain values. Patients can easily scan or upload medical data and their own documents via the evi.plus app and share them with a doctor or therapist they trust if required.
Initial situation
In today's digital world, patients and healthcare professionals face the challenge of managing health data securely and efficiently. Health information is often scattered across different systems and paper documents, leading to inefficiencies and potential security risks. This is exactly where evi.plus comes in, providing a centralized platform for all health information that can be managed by doctors/therapists and patients alike. Together with ACID21, a customized solution was developed in several design thinking workshops.

User tests and targeted surveys
To ensure that evi.plus is optimally tailored to the needs of the target groups, ACID21 carried out individual user tests and surveys with all target groups at several stages of the process. Both the app and the web application were evaluated in an iterative process. Based on the feedback from the different target groups, a version was developed that was based on the real requirements of all those involved. This resulted in a solution that is not only functionally convincing, but also strategically optimally positioned.
What were the challenges?
Secure management of health data
Patients can simply scan lab reports, test results, medical and dental reports etc. directly in the app using their smartphone and save them in a central, secure location. The app can then be used to share selected documents and other medical information with doctors and therapists. If they use the evi.plus platform, shared documents are displayed directly there and are available until access is revoked by the patient. Connections between doctors/therapists and patients can be established in various ways via the evi.plus platforms. For security and data protection reasons, however, the full exchange of data is only possible once the patient has successfully authenticated themselves to the doctor/therapist by scanning a QR code.
Cooperation with various partner laboratories
A number of laboratories are connected to the web application for doctors and therapists via various APIs, enabling real-time transmission of laboratory results via the evi.plus platform. By connecting several laboratories, the majority of relevant laboratory diagnostics are covered. The integrated AI supports doctors and therapists in evaluating the results and the graphical display of individual values and their history provides a quick overview. The laboratory results can be shared directly with patients via the evi.plus platform using a secure connection, who can view them immediately in the evi.plus app.
